The Happiest 5K on the Planet is on its way to Huntington
Huntington, WV. - Be Happy, Be Healthy, Be You. Be a Color Runner. The Color Run™- 5K is coming to downtown Huntington Saturday, August 31, 2013. “This was a city-wide effort to make this happen and the City of Huntington should be proud to add its name to the list of the most talked about 5K in the nation”, says Brian Sipe, General Manager of the SMG Managed Big Sandy Superstore Arena. “This is not a Big Sandy Arena event. This is a city-wide celebration with various groups coming together to push for this event to happen, from the Mayor’s Office to Marshall Recreation Center to Bulldog Creative and many many others. We are thankful to the organizers of The Color Run for choosing our city and this event once again proves that Huntington is an exceptional city that is exceeding expectations daily!”
Whether you are a casual morning walker or a future Olympic athlete, the 3 miles of The Color Run™ course will be the most memorable and picturesque run of your life! The Color Run™ 5K is a unique experience. The race focuses less on the runners speed and more on the crazy color fun that is going to make for a great atmosphere in downtown Huntington as The Color Run™ blasts Kelly Green throughout the streets.
There are two simple rules to The Color Run™a white t-shirt at the beginning, and a color plastered shirt at the end. Runners/Walkers will begin the 5K at the start line like a brand new pristine coloring book. By the end, they look like they fell into a Willy Wonka...tie dyed...vat of colored goodness.
